American Campus Communities Partners with Folds of Honor to Award Fourth Annual $25,000 Scholarship to Five Texas Students

Since 2018, the American Campus Communities Charity Foundation has partnered with nonprofit organization Folds of Honor to support their goal of providing educational scholarships to spouses and children of America’s fallen and disabled service members.

Since kicking off the partnership in 2018, ACC has provided $100,000 in scholarships to Texas college students and their families.

“The American Campus team is so proud to work with Folds of Honor to support their mission and honor our nation’s veterans,” said ACC Chief Accounting Officer, Folds of Honor Central Texas Chapter Treasurer and UT Austin Alum Kim Voss. “Student success is our top priority, so this partnership has given us an incredible opportunity to support college academic achievement and an incredible charity partner.”

At the University of Texas at Austin’s Veteran’s Day home football game, ACC and Folds of Honor took the field to present the partnership’s fourth $25,000 scholarship,  awarded to five UT students:

  • Amelia McLauchlan, Aerospace Engineering major, daughter of retired veteran United States Navy Lieutenant Robert A. Mclauchlan

  • Kevin Arellano, Neuroscience/Pre-Med, son of retired veteran United States Army Staff Sergeant Guido R. Arellano

  • Katherine Pratt, Journalism/Advertising major, daughter of retired veteran United States Army Lieutenant Colonel John W. Pratt

  • Mikayla Devins, Health Sciences major, daughter of retired veteran United States Army Specialist Ann R. Scotti

  • Kaylee Loggins, Speech, Language and Hearing Sciences major, daughter of retired veteran United States Army Master Sergeant William E. Loggins Jr

“With this partnership, we’re able to make a difference in the lives of these brave military families in Austin,” said Folds of Honor Founder Major Dan Rooney. “These scholarships don’t only provide educational support, but they also give hope to our nation’s heroes and their families. The need is great, and we’re incredibly thankful for this commitment from ACC.”
